What to Expect

The Holy Eucharist, also called the Lord’s Supper or the Mass, is the central act of worship in the Episcopal Church. At St. Catherine’s, the Eucharist is celebrated at at least once every week: on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. At the Eucharist, we hear God’s Word proclaimed in Holy Scripture and participate in the sacrament of the Lord’s Body and Blood, present in bread and wine. At this time the Deacon-in-Charge is offering Liturgy of the Word on Sunday mornings with Holy Communion from reserved sacrament. Once ordained priest the service will return to the full Eucharistic service. In the Episcopal Church, all baptized Christians are welcome and encouraged to receive Holy Communion, including those who have been baptized in other denominations. If you have not yet been baptized or if you would rather not receive Communion, you are welcome to come forward to receive a blessing. You may indicate your preference for a blessing by crossing your arms over your chest. If you would like to learn more about the sacrament of Holy Baptism or if you would like to learn more about the Episcopal tradition, please speak with the Celebrant.

Recorded Sermons: Sunday sermons are recorded weekly and posted on the St. Catherine’s YouTube page.
